Select a date and time that works for you, enter your basic details, and pay securely via Stripe. Your booking is confirmed instantly by email and added to your patient account.
Attend your video consultation
At your appointment time, click the link in your confirmation email to join your secure video call. Your doctor will be waiting. After the consultation, receive a written summary, prescription (if applicable), and any referrals directly to your patient dashboard.

Most patients are seen within 2 hours of booking. Many of our doctors offer same-day appointments, and some specialties have availability within 30 minutes depending on the time of day. You'll see real-time availability on each doctor's profile page.
Yes, where clinically appropriate, our doctors can issue digital prescriptions during or after your consultation. Prescriptions are sent directly to your patient dashboard and can be taken to any pharmacy in Portugal or Spain. Please note that controlled substances cannot be prescribed via online consultation.
You only need a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our video platform works directly in your browser — no app download or software installation is required. It is compatible with all major browsers on smartphone, tablet, and desktop.
Absolutely. All consultations are private, fully encrypted, and governed by strict medical confidentiality obligations. Your consultation is never recorded and your personal health data is stored securely on EU-based servers in full compliance with GDPR.
Yes. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 2 hours before your appointment time. Cancellations made with less than 2 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. You can manage your appointments directly from your patient dashboard.
Every doctor on eMedClinic holds a valid EU medical licence and has been individually vetted by our clinical team before joining the platform. We verify identity, qualifications, and licensing as part of our onboarding process. You can view each doctor's credentials on their profile page.
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. All payments are processed securely and we never store your card details on our servers.
After your consultation, your doctor will send a written summary, any diagnoses, prescribed medications, and referral letters (if applicable) directly to your patient dashboard. You'll receive an email notification as soon as these are available, usually within 30 minutes of the consultation ending.
